Discover Aquabike Isle of Man

What is an Aquabike?

Our Aquabikes are lightweight, pedal-powered watercraft designed by the Chiliboats company.  They are a dream to ride, the pedals drive an efficient propeller system that enables the rider to glide effortlessly across the sea.  Aquabikes are very stable due to their dual pontoon construction, there is virtually no risk of falling in.

Aquabiking is much easier than kayaking or paddleboarding, you only need a few minutes instruction then you are ready to explore.

Will I get wet?

Yes, but only up to your knees.  We launch from the beach, so at the beginning and end of the session, you walk in knee deep water to get on and off the bike.

Once you climb aboard you should remain dry as you sit above the water.

Who can ride our Aquabikes?

We follow the manufacturer’s equipment recommendations to ensure your safety on the water.

  • Riders must be aged 10 or over and minimum height of 1.4m (4ft 7in)

  • Maximum Chest and Waist measurement 135cm (53in)

  • Weight maximum for single rider 150kg (23 ½ stone)

  • Maximum combined Weight of both tandem riders 220kg (34 ½ stone)

Aquabikes provide a gentle, low impact exercise suitable for most fitness levels.  We aim to offer our experiences to as many people as possible please contact us in advance to enquire if we can meet your needs.

What should I wear?

Please dress for the weather conditions on the day.

Remember it is usually cooler out on the water.

Lightweight, quick drying, comfortable clothing is advised, jeans are not recommended.

Generally people wear shorts, gym leggings or trousers that can be rolled above the knee.  A couple of layers on top, and a waterproof/windproof jacket if the weather is not so good.

Footwear will get wet, so water shoes, wetsuit boots, crocs or old trainers are ideal.   You can choose to go barefoot if you prefer - but the pedals may not be comfortable for everyone.

Sunglasses and suncream too!
